Our level organisation means that as either a new starter or an experienced consultant, you are quickly given many responsibilities, involving a steep learning curve. In this you choose your own development path, together with your mentor: developing into a project manager role, becoming a consultant with broader expertise or perhaps becoming more of a specialist. We consider training on the job important, but we also offer group training in various areas. In addition, we organise sporting and challenging events six times a year. A smart process as a basis for operational improvement
We believe that a smart and simple business process forms the basis for optimum operations. The starting point for our projects is almost always a concrete problem in the customer’s operational organisation. Taking the business process as guide, we start with a thorough analysis of the current situation. Numbers tell the tale. We work closely with people at the coalface: our customer’s staff who have the day-to-day practical knowledge. We always realise a smart solution by combining process knowledge and operational energy.
Implementing successful and flexible process support
We see IT as a tool to make business processes smooth and transparent, and mostly use the Agile Scrum methodology for this. This approach leads to accelerated software development, a reduction in development and management costs, improved data quality and increased customer satisfaction through improved end products. Our IT consultants work together with the customer in the constant search for added value with easily manageable tooling. Our work is based on four areas: agile application development, reporting and analytics, data quality and migrations, and financial asset management. In this domain we work closely with our software partners Mendix, Yellowfin and Informatica.
A process improvement based on involvement, support base and awareness
In our experience the human and organisation aspects are often underexposed, but these aspects are very important in safeguarding a sustainable solution. At First Consulting we focus on this in each phase of the process. Supporting changes in the organisation is included explicitly in the analyses, design and implementation of the approach. The result: more and improved insight into organisational bottlenecks, simple and structured communications, and increased involvement, support base and understanding of changes. The end goal is to constantly increase knowledge and skills in our own organisation regarding change management.
